1. Who we are
Neuralancer (“Neuralancer”, “we”, “us”) provides a personal AI assistant accessible through the web, a dashboard, mobile apps, browser extensions, and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at privacy@neuralancer.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account data — name, email address, password (hashed), profile photo, and the AI persona name you choose.
- Conversations — messages you send to the AI and the AI's replies, including any files, images, or voice clips you attach.
- Profile preferences — settings such as language, voice mode, auto-speak preferences, notification choices, and any custom memories you ask the AI to remember.
- Optional content — notes, prescriptions, calendar events, contacts, invoices, expenses, and other data you create within the product.
- Support correspondence — emails or messages you send to our support team.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and connection data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and approximate location derived from your IP.
- Precise location — only if you grant browser geolocation permission, used so the assistant can give you region-relevant answers.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, request counts per service, tool calls per day, and error logs.
- Cookies and local storage — described in section 7.
2.3 Information from third parties
- Authentication providers — when you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your email and basic profile.
- Payment processors — Stripe, LemonSqueezy, Gumroad, EasyPaisa, and JazzCash send us transaction status, last four digits of the card, billing country, and subscription metadata. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Messaging platforms — when you message our bot on WhatsApp, Telegram, or Discord, those platforms relay your messages and the platform-specific identifiers we need to reply to you.
3. How we use your information
- To run the assistant — routing your prompts to AI models, executing tools you ask for, and returning the result.
- To personalize the experience — remembering your preferences, prior conversations, custom memories, and chosen AI persona.
- To enable optional features — generating calendar reminders, sending notifications, scanning prescriptions, transcribing voice clips, etc.
- To bill and account for usage — tracking quota against your plan and processing payments via the providers above.
- To improve the product — analyzing aggregated usage to fix bugs, plan features, and tune system prompts. Conversation content is NOT used to train external AI models without your explicit consent.
- To keep the service secure — detecting abuse, fraud, and policy violations.
- To communicate with you — service updates, security notices, and (if you opt in) product news.
- To comply with the law — when a valid legal request requires us to disclose data.
4. Third-party services we use
To deliver the assistant we share specific subsets of your data with the following vendors, each of whom processes it only as needed and under their own published privacy practices:
- AI model providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. We send the text of your prompt and any context the AI needs to answer. Audio and images go to the model only when those features are used.
- Payment processors — Stripe, LemonSqueezy, Gumroad, EasyPaisa, JazzCash.
- Email — Gmail SMTP for transactional email.
- Voice — speech-to-text and text-to-speech services (currently OpenAI) when you use voice mode or auto-speak replies.
- Maps and search — when you ask for directions, search the web, or look up local businesses, those queries go to the relevant provider (Google Maps, news APIs, etc.).
- Hosting and infrastructure — our servers run on a managed VPS in the EU.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone, and we do not share it for behavioral advertising.
5. How long we keep your data
- Account data — as long as your account exists.
- Conversations — kept indefinitely so the assistant can recall context, unless you delete them or your account.
- Payment records — kept for the period required by tax law (typically 7 years).
- Usage logs — typically 90 days, then aggregated or deleted.
- Backups — encrypted and kept for up to 30 days after deletion before being purged.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data.
- Deletion — delete your account (Settings → Forget me) or ask us to. We will erase your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection / restriction — object to specific uses such as marketing or profile-based personalization.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
- Complain — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@neuralancer.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, persist your draft messages and notes, and measure feature usage. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising. You can clear them at any time in your browser settings, but doing so will sign you out and reset your local preferences.
8. Security
We protect your data with HTTPS, encryption at rest, access controls, audit logging, and regular dependency updates. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authority within 72 hours of discovery, as required by law.
9. International data transfers
Some of our vendors are based outside your country. When we transfer your data internationally we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards approved by the European Commission and the UK ICO.
10. Children
Neuralancer is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will notify you by email and post a notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version.
